Software Engineering (Fortran) – Computational and Quantum Chemistry
TURBOMOLE GmbH announces an opening for a position in software engineering/programming. This is a part time position (20 hours per week) with exceptional flexibility in working location and hours. The initial appointment will be for one year (6-month review period) with a possible extension. TURBOMOLE is a leading quantum chemistry code with a well-established user community ranging from industry to academia and educational institutions. Responsibilities:The successful candidate will be assigned maintenance and software development tasks, including implementation of new data structures, remodelling of existing code, interfacing with GUIs and workflow management tools, and implementation of new features. He/she is expected to have team-working skills and to be able to manage several tasks at once.
Requirements:PhD/Master degree in chemistry, physics, computer engineering, computing (software engineering) or equivalent qualifications
Working experience in Fortran (95 and 77) programming
Experience in application and development of computational/quantum chemistry or scientific computing methods
Experience in UNIX/LINUX and software development tools
Experience in Python and Perl scripting languages would be an advantage
Location: The Corporate office is located in Karlsruhe, Germany. The successful candidate will work from his/her home office but will need to be located within a reasonable distance of Karlsruhe/Bochum/Berlin to support regular meetings.
